In the village of Cataumet, Cape Cod there is a small, dark and windy rode that most folks breeze right past. The adventurous few who take this path are greeted with one of the most amazing spots to catch a sunset: Hospital Cove.
I started this painting with sketches and color studies on site and then developed the larger piece every day over several weeks aided by my sketches, reference and years of being in that very spot savoring the last bit of sun before the magic of a summer evening.
