Cleveland's Ledge

Watercolor on Paper, 11” by 14”

Cleveland's Ledge.JPG

You can only get to Cleveland’s East Edge Light, formally known as Pocasset Light before being renamed for President Grover Cleveland, by boat as it is located two miles off shore. I had always been captivated by this beacon of hope and guidance and have wanted to paint it for years. I’m grateful for @heyrayhansen who not only snapped this reference picture but encouraged us to take the extra time to get to Cleveland’s and take this shot.

Cleveland’s was Cape Cod’s last commissioned light. Should you have the will and the means, I highly recommend a trip out to this towering beauty, or if you’re on the shores of Buzzard’s Bay, perhaps you can listen for her soothing call on a foggy day.

Giclée prints on Moab Entrada paper are available in the shop.
